Roger Johnson Quail has been producing high quality Coturnix quail since 1995 in Owatonna, Minnesota. Roger’s life-long career in the grain and animal/poultry feed business led him into raising quail, first as a hobby, and later into a full time occupation. In June of 2020, the business was purchased by Kevin Steuck, who has worked with Roger for 12 years.
We are a small, family owned business, employing one full-time worker and a part-time student, in addition to Kevin. We have a hands-on approach to quail production, with everyone being involved in all aspects of the operation, from the layers to hatching to shipping.
We are 25 year members of the Minnesota Falconers Association and the North American Falconers Association.

Our feeding program is based on our experience in the poultry feed manufacturing industry. We work with a professional poultry nutritionist and together we have formulated the diets that we use. The feed is custom manufactured at a nearby mill according to our ingredient and nutrient specifications. We know that there are no short-cuts to producing a quality bird, so we feed a high protein, high energy ration to produce maximum weight gain and sound, healthy birds.
